I Live For You

When you are lonely
and tears are difficult to hide
Remember Son
I would be forever at your side.

When all your friends are gone
(if that would ever be)
Let not your heart forget,
That you can still depend on me.

And though the deepest tragedy,
may wander in your wake,
You may be sure I live my life,
For your beloved sake.

Because I love you Kelly
as a wonderful Son and friend,
From every moment now,
until eternity may end.

Because you have filled my heart with joy,
and made my dreams come true,
You are just so wonderful,
I will always Love and Miss you.

"THE SOUND OF THE SEA"

The sea awoke at midnight from its sleep,
And round the pebbly beaches far and wide
I heard the first wave of the rising tide
Rush onward with uninterrupted sweep;

A voice out of the silence of the deep,
A sound mysteriously multiplied
As of a cataract from the mountain's side,
Or roar of wind upon a wooded steep.

So comes to us at times, from the unknown
And inaccessible solitudes of being,
The rushing of the sea-tides of the soul;

And inspirations, that we deem our own,
Are some divine foreshadowing and foreseeing
Of things beyond our reason or control.

By: Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Christopher served in the Navy from 1997 to 2001. He was trained as a Aviation Storekeeper and also received training as a Landing Signalman. His accomplishment include a Navy Markmanship ribbon, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Navy "E" Ribbon, and a Humanitarian Service Medal.

While stationed in Guam, he earned an advanced rating as a Open Water Diver. His interests include computer technology and sports cars.

"THE MISSED CHILD"

I miss you so much
If you only knew
The pain is so deep
I don't know what to do
I need you here
I want you by my side
Hearing you say, "I love you, Mom"
With your eyes open wide
Watching you grow
Watching you play
But I know you'll come back to me
Somehow, someway

I want to hug you
Instead I write
And hope that I reach you
I love you, honey
And I think of you every day
And someday I can see you
But for now I'll just pray

By: Amanda Sue VanPoortfliet

Christopher will be remember forever by his mother, his brother Brian, his nephews Lexi and Michael, his niece Sabine, his grandmother Elizabeth, his uncle Edwin and wife Monika.

Christopher's spirit is among his friends and in their stories they tell.

When Allan, Chris and some others were fighting at school and Allan and Chris became best friends after asking each other "why are we doing that?". Chris helping Allan showel snow to help his family while they had a hard time financially. Allan getting up at 3 am to pull "my car!" out of a snow drift after Chris took it without permission. Angie getting a tattoo on her ankle after she visited Chris in the hospital. It has a red rose and Christopher forever. I wondered what her hubby said!

I could go on and on about the stories Christopher left us. We all will love him until we meet again!

"MOTHER'S LOVE"

Is like nothing else in the world
It's a good-bye present when you leave home
It's your conscience in life
It's your voice and memory after you're gone

With all my love, Mutti

Nathan Dean Kumpe (16)

Nathans life was marked by compassion. He served as a faithful soldier of the Lord and was not ashamed reverof the gospel of Jesus Christ. In his all to short life, Nathan touched countless numbers of people with one simple message " I LOVE YOU" . this world was a better place with Nathan in it. His gentle spirit, soft voice, and warm embrace is deeply missed by those who knew him. As his mother, he was my gift from God, whom he truly blessed my life with. Even though he is gone from here, he is and will always be my son forever. Nathans mission on this earth was to care for others and he did with every breath he took and every word he spoke. Nathan would want you to know there is nothing more important in life than to make sure you had a personal relationship with our Dear Lord Jesus Christ. It was his compassion in this life and through all eternity. Nathan you touched so many lives and now that your in heaven you know this. You are and will forever be loved. I long for the day until we are together again my son. Forever in my heart! your mother forever..........

Who can say for certain
Maybe you're still here
I feel you all around me
Your memories are so clear
Deep in the stillness
I can hear you speak
Your an inspiration
Can it be (?)
That you are mine
Forever Joe
And you watching over me from up above
Fly me up to where you are
Beyond the distant star
I wish upon tonight
To see you smile
If only for awhile to know you're there
A breath away's not far
To where you are
Are you gently sleeping
Here inside my dream
And isn't faith believing
All power can't be seen
As my heart holds you
Just one beat away
I cherish all you gave me everyday
'Cause you are mine
Forever Joe
Watching me from up above
And I believe
That angels breathe
And that love will live on and never leave
Fly me up to where you are
Beyond the distant star
I wish upon tonight
If only for awhile
To know you're there
A breath away's not far
To where you are
I know you're there
A breathe away's not far
To where you are

Peace out honey
I miss you very much
I love you now and forever

Christian (Chrissie) Victoria (15 yrs., 22 days)
11/14/86 - 12/06/01

"Our Dearest Angel"

Chrissie was in a hurry to be born. Born at 28 weeks, weight 2 pounds 5.5 ounces 12.5 inches long. Chrissie lived just 15 years 22 days, but she lived each day as if it were a year. Chrissie was a poet, a web-master, an honor roll student, a peacemaker, an artist, a singer, and an international friends to many. Chrissie was not afraid to say what she felt. Chrissie was always open and honest with people and always had a smile for them. Chrissie ended her life here with an illness that no one understands. Chrissie was anorexic, depressed and lived with 5 personalities besides herself (dissociative identity disorder). Chrissie suffered from many illnesses from being born too early, such as broncial pulmonary dysplasia, asthma, reflux, short term memory loss, auditory processing dysfunction, and peripheral vision loss. Chrissie never complained she just kept on going. Just like an Angel here to teach us.

Angel, you lived a long time in a short time here on earth. Chrissie touched many people with her love and caring and it will continue. We have set up memorial scholarships in her name at Northwest High School and Ivymount School. Chrissie's brain was donated to depression research so others may have a chance to live without depression. We will have an annual Chrissie's Angel Walk/Run around her birth date to raise money for the scholarship funds and for suicide awareness. Chrissie's friends will not forget the famous phrase: "Save The Buffalos, and Coolies". There is a plaque in each of the school in her memory. Chrissie's smile and beautiful face will be missed by many. We can take comfort in knowing we will meet her when it is our time to leave Earth and join her in Heaven. I have always said "Chrissie was an old soul in a young body". Chrissie will always be Our Angel. Missed each day more and more, but we know one day we will be together again.

Chrissie wrote poems in a web site. The poems from 2000 were from Chrissie the others 2001 were from when the depression became to much and the other personalities took over. If you go to that site please sign the guest book. The site is at:

Love Always,

Mom and Dad (Kathie and David)
