BO'S FAVORITE REESE'S PEANUT BUTTER PIE

Easy as Pie Crust

3 T. sugar

1 c. flour
1 stick butter

Mix ingredients. Press into pie plate and prick crust with fork. Bake at 375° for about 8 minutes, until golden brown. Graham cracker crust can be substituted for this crust.

Filling for Pie

1 tsp. vanilla
4 c. Cool Whip
broken-up Reese's peanut butter cups

1 c. sugar
2 (8-oz.) cream cheese (soften to room temperature)
4 T. canned evaporated milk

Mix sugar, softened cream cheese, evaporated milk, and vanilla until creamy. Add Cool Whip. Add broken-up Reese's peanut butter cups, saving a few for decoration. Pour mixture into cooked, cooled pie shell. Decorate with remaining candy pieces. Refrigerate. Serves six.

Note: I use this recipe substituting the Reese's cups with other candy bars. Ask a friend what their favorite candy is, and surprise them with a personal pie. Or, use Oreo cookies: Oreos for the crust instead of graham crackers, and stand whole cookies in the middle of the pie for decoration.

Grief knits two hearts in closer bonds than happiness ever can; and common sufferings are far stronger links than common joys.

ARLYNS' FAVORITE CHOCOLATE CHIP ICE CREAM

1/4 c. sour cream
1 qt. chocolate chip ice cream, softened
1 T. butter or margarine

1/2 c. chocolate syrup
1/3 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 c. crisp rice cereal

Coat bottom and sides of 8" pie pan with butter. Combine chocolate syrup and
chocolate chips in a small microwave-safe bowl. Microwave syrup and chips on high until hot, about 45 seconds. Stir until smooth. Reserve 1/4 c. of the chocolate mixture. Combine remaining chocolate mixture and cereal in a medium bowl and mix to coat bottom of pie pan. Press mixture over bottom and up sides of prepared pie pan. Freeze until firm, about 15 minutes. Combine reserved chocolate mixture and the sour cream into a small bowl and mix well. Spread half the ice cream in the prepared pie plate. Drizzle with half the sour cream mixture. Top with remaining ice cream mixture. Freeze pie, covered, until firm. About one hour.

Note: Arlyn, Darlin' loved ice cream! (When she died, there were two empty ice cream containers in the seat beside her.) Arlyn could devour this pie in one sitting!
